Netball NSW Life Membership

Life Membership is awarded to an individual who has shown great service to netball in NSW for over 10 years. Members of the NSW netball community can put forward a candidate, which is then voted upon by the Netball NSW Board of Directors and announced at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Below are the incredible individuals who have been awarded Life Membership.

Mrs Maureen Boyle OAM
Maureen Boyle international umpire, international rules committee and umpire educator. State, National and International Umpire. Awards: NSW Sports Federation – Official of the Year 1996, inaugural International Federation of Netball Associations, Order of Australia medal for services to netball 2004, and the prestigious Anne Clark Service Award 1999 and many more. Anne Sargeant OAM
An outstanding shooter, Sargeant represented NSW from 1978 – 1988 and was captain of the NSW Open Team from 1982 – 1988. During this time she led her team to an impressive four Australian titles. Representing Australia for 11 years which included three World Championships, Sargeant was captain of the National Team from 1983 – 1988. In 1987 Anne was inducted into the Australian Sporting Hall of Fame and in 1988 she was admitted to the NSW Hall of Champions. (Anne Sargeant – Hall of Fame)

Yvonne Richardson
Netball NSW Council delegate appointment 1983. Director of Tournament in 1986 (later to be known as Events, then Competitions and Events).  Yvonne’s service to Netball NSW in this capacity extended over an 11 year period. 1990 member of Netball Australia Score bench personnel.   1994 appointed as an inaugural member of the National Timing and Scoring Panel.  Ongoing contribution to the innovation of systems including score sheets, automatic timers, computerized recording systems and methods of grading.

Wendy Archer AM
Netball NSW President 2004 – current.  Netball NSW delegate to Netball Australia 2002 – current. Former Vice President of Netball NSW. Chair, Netball NSW Hall of Fame Panel. National A Badge Umpire. In 2005 Wendy was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) by the Australian Government for her service to netball administration in New South Wales, particularly in the Hunter Region.
