2014 STATE CHAMPIONS CROWNED

The 2014 State Champions were revealed on Monday afternoon, following three days of non-stop action at the Netball NSW State Championships.

Just under 1,700 matches were played at Campbelltown District and Camden & District Netball Associations across the long weekend, with a sprinkling of rain marring the last hours of an almost perfect sunny weekend.

SWIFTS BOW OUT IN SEMIS

The NSW Swifts’ 2014 season ended on Sunday after losing to Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic by the narrowest of margins, 50-49, in their sudden-death Minor Semi Final at Allphones Arena.

An amazing spectacle in front of 5,610 supporters, the do-or-die match was everything finals netball should be.

COACHES READY FOR NEXT STEPNine NSW coaches have achieved their Advance Accreditation already in 2014, and now Advance and Elite Coach Accreditation Courses are being delivered at the Anne Clark Centre in August!

TAKING STUDENTS OUT OF THE CLASSROOM

Netball NSW in conjunction with Active After School Care (AASC) recently held a Gala Day, on Thursday 22 May, at Bankstown City Netball Association.

Over 100 students from local schools St Charbel’s College and Holy Saviour Primary School attended the Gala Day, ranging from Kindergarten through to Year 7 students, have been participating in netball as part of their AASC program, and were invited to come together and try out their new skills.

NSW ANNOUNCES 2014 ANL TEAMSNetball NSW has named the 27 athletes selected to represent our State during the 2014 Australian Netball League (ANL).

Twelve athletes will run out for the Netball NSW Waratahs during the eight week competition, while the Netball NSW Blues consists of an extended squad of 15 athletes including five debutants.
Both teams will play their first game of the 2014 season at the Anne Clark Centre on Saturday 12 July.
