2014 STATE AGE CHAMPIONS CROWNED

The 2014 State Age Champions were revealed on Monday, following three days of action, fun and sun at the Netball NSW State Age Championships.

More than 2,800 matches were played at Illawarra District Netball Association and Campbelltown District Netball Association with more than 3,300 players taking the court across the long weekend.

SWIFTS CELEBRATE SEASON 2014

The NSW Swifts celebrated the 2014 season on Wednesday night at the Australian National Maritime Museum. The Club enjoyed a record season in 2014 with the highest number of Members yet and set a new ANZ Championship regular season crowd record at Allphones Arena.

Individual players were recognised on the night with Kimberlee Green taking home the QBE Most Valued Player and Members’ Player of the Year awards, Sharni Layton was named Players’ Player and Sarah Wall received the Coaches’ Award.

SCHOOLS CUP UPDATE

The schools to represent the South Coast at the 2014 Netball NSW Schools Cup State Final have been decided following the area’s Regional Finals while the schools to contest the West/Central West Regional Finals have been revealed following the conclusion of the region’s Local Days.

ANL RETURNS TO THE ANNE CLARK CENTRE

The Netball NSW Blues and Netball NSW (NNSW) Waratahs will get their 2014 Australian Netball League campaigns underway at the Anne Clark Centre on Saturday 12 July!

The NNSW Waratahs – led by Emily Keenan, who was announced as Captain last week – will open the night against the Canberra Darters at 6:45pm, followed by the NNSW Blues taking on the Tassie Spirit. The NSW teams swap opponents for two further fixtures on Sunday 13 July, so put the dates in your diary to come and cheer on your NSW teams.

The Australian Commonwealth Games Netball Team kicked off its pre-departure training camp on Monday at the Australian Institute of Sport.
