This weekend 294 teams representing 83 Associations will converge on Baulkham Hills Shire, Eastwood Ryde, Penrith and Hawkesbury City Netball Associations for the 2015 State Age Championships!

SWIFTS UNABLE TO HOLD BACK FIREBIRDS IN 2015 DECIDER

The NSW Swifts have finished 2015 Runners-Up after agonisingly falling one goal short, 56-57, to the Queensland Firebirds in the ANZ Championship Grand Final on Sunday (21 June).

The Swifts put on a terrific display from the get-go by leading for the majority of the match, only to fall short in the dying seconds to the home side.

WARATAH CUP GRAND FINAL APPROACHES

City of Sydney/Sydney Uni and Eastwood Ryde will compete for the title of 2015 DOOLEYS State League Waratah Cup Champions in tomorrow (Wednesday 24 June) night’s Grand Final at Netball Central from 7pm.

City of Sydney/Sydney Uni defeated Eastwood Ryde in the Major Semi Final to book their place in the decider while Eastwood Ryde got past Sutherland Shire in last week’s Preliminary Final, after the latter upset St George in the Minor Semi Final.

It is not just the teams stepping it up come finals time, with four officials (2 umpires, 2 bench officials) receiving their next National Accreditations.

Registrations for the Netball NSW School Holiday Clinics in July have started closing, however there is still time to enjoy some netball fun with registrations still open for clinics in the Blue Mountains, Bathurst, West Wyalong and Orange.

2015 ANL UNDERWAY

The Netball NSW (NNSW) Waratahs split their results in the opening weekend of the 2015 Australian Netball League (ANL) in Canberra, falling to reigning Premiers Victorian Fury by just one goal, 51-52, before bouncing back to defeat Tassie Spirit 66-47.

NSW umpires Michelle Phippard (Manly), Bronwen Adams (Manly, Tara Warner (Sutherland), Hayley Burgess (Sutherland) and Emma Davey (Eastwood Ryde) have been included in the pool to officiate the 2015 ANL, in what Netball Australia is calling “one of the most credentialed groups in competition’s eight year history.”

  SCHOOLS CUP FINALISTS DECIDED FOR SYDNEY METRO

Following the conclusion of its final Local Day in Randwick last Wednesday (17 June), the Netball NSW Schools Cup Sydney Metropolitan Regional Finalists have been decided.

The Sydney Metropolitan Regional Finals will be split across two days, with eight teams participating in the Years 5/6 Mixed Division on Wednesday 22 July, while nine teams will contest Years 7/8 Girls and five teams contest Years 7/8 Boys Divisions the following day, Thursday 23 July, at Netball Central.
