TROY PRESENTED WITH WARATAH SERVICE AWARD

Netball NSW is proud to announce long-time netball manager Jan Troy has been awarded the Waratah Service Award, presented at the NSW Swifts’ home game on Monday 23 March.

The Waratah Service Award is a prestigious honour, and bestowed to an individual who displays distinguished service to Netball NSW in the capacity of an organisational or operational volunteer for at least ten years.

NETBALL NSW SCHOOLS CUP ACTION KICKS OFF IN 2015

The 2015 Netball NSW Schools Cup competition officially began last week with North Coast hosting their first two Local Days on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 March.

The region had a record 93 local school teams have registered for the 2015 competition.

NETBALL CENTRAL HOSTS NATIONALS IN APRIL

Watch Australia’s finest young netballers in the 2015 17/U and 19/U National Championships hosted by Netball NSW at Netball Central, Sydney Olympic Park, from 14-19 April 2015.

The championship follows on from the 2015 21/U National Championships held on the Sunshine Coast earlier in March. The NSW 21/U Team finished fourth with five NSW athletes named in the Australian 21/U Squad at the conclusion of the tournament.

BOARD MEMBERS APPOINTED AT NETBALL NSW AGM

The NSW Board of Directors welcomed the appointment of three members at Netball NSW’s 2015 Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Saturday 21 March at Netball Central.

UMPIRES B CAMP LEARNS FROM BRILLIANT BEST

Netball NSW recently held its annual Umpires B Camp at our new home Netball Central where more than 40 freshly-accredited B Badge umpires participated in the two-day workshop.

REGIONAL STATE LEAGUE

GrainCorp Regional State League – West/Central West and Riverina as well as Hunter Regional State League will hold their Finals this weekend to decide their 2015 champions!

Orange PCYC will host four Divisions from West/Central West, including two newly-established underage Divisions for the 2015 season, while Temora Recreation Centre will host the Riverina competition and Woy Woy Netball Association hosts the Hunter Finals.

EASTER HOLIDAY CLINIC REGISTRATIONS CLOSING

Registrations have started closing this week to join in the netty fun during the upcoming school holidays with the Netball NSW School Holiday Clinics for children aged 5-12 years, and the Train Like a Swift clinic for girls aged 12-16 years.

  SWIFTS HEADED NORTH FOR RE-MATCH WITH FIREBIRDS

The NSW Swifts are undefeated after four rounds in the 2015 ANZ Championship, with two wins and two draws to their name following the Club’s first home game of the season on Monday 23 March.

The Swifts will be aiming to break their Brisbane hoodoo when they take on the QLD Firebirds in Round 5 on Monday night (30 March).

Arguably the Swifts’ biggest game of the season will be on Sunday 3 May when they host the defending premiers, the Melbourne Vixens, for the Club’s Allphones Arena BLOCKBUSTER.
