SCHOOLS CUP GATHERS MOMENTUM

We are fast approaching the halfway point of the 2015 Netball NSW Schools Cup competition, with five more Local Days contested this week in the West/Central West, Far North Coast and Riverina.

COUNTDOWN TO STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Yesterday marked just ONE MONTH until the 2015 State Championships get underway, with this year’s competition being contested at Illawarra & District Netball Association from Saturday 6 to Monday 8 June.

GRAFTON GOES BACK TO BACK IN FAR NORTH COAST

Grafton have successfully defended their 2014 title after defeating Lismore, 41-37, in the 2015 Far North Coast Regional State League Grand Final.

After contesting five regular rounds over two days, the fierce rivals repeated history by meeting in the decider for the first time since 2011, with Grafton reversing the result to be crowned 2015 Champions on Sunday 26 April.

CRAZY HAIR & SOCK DAY FAST APPROACHING

It’s that time of year to once again dust off your colourful socks and wigs, get the glitter out to decorate, and get set to help raise vital funds towards childhood cancer research!

The Kids’ Cancer Project (TKCP) Crazy Hair & Sock Day will be officially celebrated on Saturday 23 May this year and all netball teams, schools, Clubs and Associations can participate to help raise important funds. The NSW Swifts are getting the party started early this weekend by celebrating its’ Crazy Hair & Sock Day when the Club hosts the Adelaide Thunderbirds at Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre this Sunday 10 May.

FUN WITH NETBALL DURING SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

Netball NSW hosted nine clinics across the State during the recent Easter School Holidays, with 274 children enjoying three hours of fun with netball!

Clinics were held in all corners of NSW; from Coonamble to Yass, Narrabri to Cowra, Kiama to Lithgow, with the largest attended clinic held at Penrith Netball Association (65 kids!).

RECORDS TUMBLE AT SWIFTS BLOCKBUSTER

The NSW Swifts turned in a BLOCKBUSTER performance to match the new ANZ Championship regular season record crowd of 10,370 supporters (including 1144 players, coaches and supporters in a State Age Zone dedicated to representatives headed to the Netball NSW State Age Championships in June) last Sunday 3 May, by defeating the Melbourne Vixens 67-43 at Allphones Arena.

It was the most dominant display from the Swifts thus far in the 2015 ANZ Championship, and with it, the highest number of goals the Swifts have ever scored against the Vixens, as well as the biggest winning margin over their rival Club.

It’s not long now until the Netball World Cup SYDNEY 2015, and coinciding with this global event is The Centurions Live Stage Show.
