NATIONALS COME TO NETBALL CENTRAL NEXT WEEK

The NSW 17/U and 19/U Teams will go up against the best from each State and Territory at the 2015 National Netball Championships next week, from April 14-19.

HUNTER, RIVERINA & WEST/CENTRAL WEST 2015 CHAMPIONS DECIDED

The first 2015 Champions were crowned on Sunday 29 March, with Hunter Regional State League and GrainCorp Regional State Leagues Riverina and West/Central West (WCW) all culminating in a big day of finals action.

Newcastle 21s (Hunter Division 1), Wagga Wagga (Riverina) and Orange 1 (WCW Division 1) all took home the top division titles.

NSW COACHES LEARNING FROM THE BEST

A group of NSW Regional Academies of Sport and DOOLEYS State League coaches recently had the opportunity to attend a coaching workshop conducted by Australian Netball Diamonds’ head coach Lisa Alexander as she took charge of a NSW Institute of Sport training session at Netball Central.

Approximately 25 coaches attended this session, being able to listen, observe and ask questions of Lisa throughout the 2-hour training session.

SUPPORT THE KIDS’ CANCER PROJECT IN MAY

Your Association or Club can join in the fun to help bring hope to kids with cancer.

Associations and Clubs can host a ‘crazy hair’ or ‘crazy sock’ day (officially recognised on Saturday 23 May) or come up with your own idea! In return, players make a gold coin donation for Netball NSW Official Charity Partner, The Kids’ Cancer Project.

All participating Associations will go in the draw to win a signed NSW Swifts playing dress!

NEW NATIONAL COACHING STRATEGY LAUNCHED

Netball Australia has released a new national direction for coaching with the release of the Coaching Blueprint, which outlines the sport’s plan to achieving ongoing success on and off the court.

The new Coaching Blueprint includes a Coach Approach document which outlines the sport’s philosophical approach to coaching, one that promotes player learning and ownership of that learning, through creating player awareness, responsibility and self- belief.
