Fave Moments of 2013 – Paige Hadley

As we quickly approach the end of another season, netballnsw.com is asking some of those in our netball community to share their favourite netball moments from 2013.

After her remarkable debut ANZ Championship season, which culminated in making her Australian Diamonds debut as well as being awarded Game MVP in only her second Diamonds game, we asked NSW Swift Paige Hadley to share what was her most special moment from 2013.

What is Paige Hadley’s favourite netball moment of 2013?

“This year has been unbelievable.  To pick a favourite moment is near impossible because I was living my dreams every day.

However I can’t go past walking out for my Diamonds debut – holding the hand of the little NetSetGO! girl who walked out with me so tightly, singing the National Anthem, and taking the court in front of an amazing crowd, but most importantly my family.  I know it was little over a month ago now, but it still gives me goose bumps.

Another favourite moment from this year was the World Youth Netball Championships in Glasgow.  It was an experience that not everyone gets to have; even some Diamonds players as it’s only held every four years and players must be 21 years old or younger.

Taking the court with my friends – athletes that I had spent so much time with training, playing and living together for most of the last two years – was just amazing and it really made me realise how much I wanted to play for the Diamonds (even though I wasn’t expecting to make my debut so soon after!).

Finally, the support of my family and friends I receive every day as I worked hard at my craft. I absolutely love them and wouldn’t be here without them.  But also everyone in the netball community who has cheered me from the sidelines, said hello and wished me well when I’ve seen them at the netball courts – it all helped me achieve so much this year and I want to thank everyone for their support.

Bring on 2014!”
