Following two days of back-to-back netball at the 15 Years Development Weekend held at the Anne Clark Centre on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 October, 60 young athletes have been selected to attend the Talented Athlete Program (TAP) camp at the end of the month.

The purpose of the two-day event was to provide the Academies’ 15 Years squads with further development opportunities, with 144 Young athletes representing all NSW Academy of Sport 15 Years netball squads put through their paces by some top NSW netball identities.

The squads participated in 23 rounds of netball (two x 12 minute halves) in total and were observed by a Netball NSW panel of selectors, with the group identifying the athletes listed below to attend the TAP camp.

The TAP camp will be held at the Sydney Academy of Sport in Narrabeen from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 October, showcasing some of the best young talent in the State on the beginnings of their Netball NSW Pathway.

Not only was the weekend an opportunity for the younger generation of up-and-coming netball talent to pit against the best in their age group and receive extensive individual feedback from experienced coaches, Netball NSW also provided mentoring opportunities for attending coaches and umpires.

NSW Swifts Head Coach Rob Wright, Netball NSW (NNSW) Blues Head Coach Moira Gaha and Netball NSW Regional Development Manager Nicole Bowles were on hand throughout the weekend to provide advice and individual mentoring to every Academy coach and assistant coach.

Along with coaches, attending umpires were provided personal coaching from Netball NSW.  Fifteen umpires were provided through the Academies Umpire Program and were mentored by National ‘A’ Badge umpires Rachel Hughes, Rebecca McKinnon and Netball NSW Umpire & Officials Coordinator Jan Simpson.

Netball NSW would like to congratulate the following players who have been selected from the 15yrs Development Weekend into the Talented Athlete Program (TAP).
