Kenny’s Forbes dedication recognised

At Netball NSW HQ we love hearing about the amazing work volunteers are doing in our netball community – but we also love sharing that news for everyone to enjoy!

Therefore we would like to send big congratulations to Robyn Kenny from Forbes Netball Association who was recently presented with a Sporting Spirit Volunteer Award, recognising 40 years of dedication to the Association.

The award was announced on International Volunteer Day, and Robyn was presented her certificate by Forbes Mayor Ron Penny at December’s Council Shire meeting.

There were 31 nominations received in total for the Central West region, with Robyn ironically nominating two other volunteers form Forbes Netball Association for recognition.

“When they rang me, I thought they were calling about those nominations but they were calling to tell me that I had won the award,” Robyn told Forbes Advocate newspaper in December.

“The fact I won the award could not have happened without the enthusiastic volunteers of coaches and umpires.”

Although Robyn was the big winner on the day, another volunteer also received recognition for her tireless efforts in the netball community.

Congratulations to Toot Keegan from Orange Netball Association on receiving a highly commended certificate from the Central West Sporting Spirit Volunteer Awards.
