Northern Inland Regional League gets underway

It was a chilly start to the Northern Inland Regional League at Narrabri on Sunday, 24 July, as nine teams from the Armidale, Inverell, Gunnedah, Group 14, Narrabri, Quirindi and Tamworth Associations took to the court to play some fine netball across two Divisions.

Three rounds were played over the course of the day in Division 1, while five were played out in Division 2.

Quirindi proved to be the best team of day in Division 1, winning all three of their match-ups with Armidale District in hot pursuit after two wins from their three games. Inverell managed one win and two losses, while Narrabri are still looking for their first victory after losing three from three.

Division 2 is proving to be a very tight affair after five rounds with Gunnedah sitting at the top of the table, but only on goal differential from Quirindi (2nd) and Group 14 (3rd). Those three teams all managed to register four wins on Sunday and there is some daylight back to Moree & District (4th), Tamworth (6th) and Inverell (7th), who all have one victory each with Narrabri yet to win.

All teams will be raring to go again in two weeks’ time as they prepare for the next day of competition on Sunday 7 August in Tamworth.
