Quirindi makes welcome return to Regional State League

Quirindi Netball Association has made a solid return to Regional State League after three years, to lead Division 1 undefeated after the opening day of the 2015 Northern Inland Regional State League competition. Not only that, they also follow Division 2 leaders Tamworth closely in second place after the opening four rounds.

Inverell Netball Association hosted the opening’s day play on Sunday 19 July, with five teams contesting each Division this season.

Division 1
As previously mentioned, Quirindi maintain a perfect winning record after four rounds by claiming victories against Group 14, Inverell, Tamworth and Narrabri. They’re closely followed by Group 14 who featured in the match of the day finishing with a thrilling 21-all draw with third-placed Tamworth in Round 4.

First and second will meet again when play resumes at Gunnedah Netball Association for Day 2 action, with Quirindi meeting Group 14 at 10:00am while Narrabri takes on Inverell; Tamworth will enjoy a Bye first up.

Division 2
Tamworth are also undefeated to lead Division 2, sitting three points clear of Quirindi and Moree & District who are separated by goal percentage. Excitingly, the draw resulted when Quirindi and Moree & District met in Round 2, finishing on 25 goals apiece after 60 minutes.

Moree & District will have the Bye first up when play resumes this Sunday 26 July, while Inverell takes on Narrabri and Quirindi will be looking to deliver Tamworth their first loss.
