Regional State League Finals this weekend

Three regions will hold their Regional State League Finals this weekend to decide the first Regional State League Champions of the 2015 season.

GrainCorp Regional State League – West/Central West and Riverina will hold their final day’s play at the same locations as last week’s penultimate rounds, while Hunter Regional State League moves to Woy Woy for Finals.

Orange PCYC will host four Divisions from West/Central West, including two newly-established underage Divisions for the 2015 season, while Temora Recreation Centre will host the Riverina competition.

WEST/CENTRAL WEST
Finals – Sunday 29 March, Orange PCYC Indoor Stadium > View Fixture/Results

Last Sunday 22 March saw West/Central West hold their final regular round matches, with Division 1 defending Champions Orange 1 finishing atop the ladder with an unbeaten run of five wins heading into Finals.

They’re followed closely by Dubbo, whom Orange 1 defeated in the final match of Day 2, with Bathurst 1 in third and Division 1 newcomers Cowra in fourth, who in their first year of GrainCorp Regional State League action will contest the Finals Series.

Dubbo, Bathurst, Forbes and Parkes will contest the Division 2 Finals with ladder leaders Dubbo taking an undefeated run of five wins into the Finals.

Introduced for the 2015 season, Orange and Cowra top the underage Divisions – 17/U (Division 3) and 15/U (Division 4) – ladders respectively. With four teams in each Divisions, all sides will head into the Finals Series looking to claim the inaugural Champions titles.

RIVERINA
Finals – Sunday 29 March 2015, Temora Recreation Centre > View Fixture/Results

GrainCorp Regional State League – Riverina has seven rounds to contest before Finals gets underway in the afternoon, setting up an exciting finish to the 2015 competition.

Defending Champions Wagga Wagga finished the opening day’s play undefeated and take five consecutive days into Day 2 this Sunday. They’re closely followed by Lake Cargelligo in second, who trail by just one point with a draw their only blemish so far.

Nothing separates third and fourth with goal percentage the only difference between Griffith (third) and Young 1 (fourth), while Leeton (fifth) and AFL Riverina (sixth) remain in touch to stay within Finals contention.

HUNTER
Finals – Sunday 29 March, Woy Woy Netball Association> View Fixture/Results

After 14 rounds the Hunter Regional State League heads into the 2015 Finals Series with 2014 Champions Newcastle 21s back to defend their title. They head into the Finals on an unbeaten run of 12 wins and will meet Wyong District 21s for a place in the Grand Final; second-placed Charlestown Opens will take on Newcastle 17s in the other Semi Final.

Both groups from Division 5 will combine to contest the finals, with the top two teams from Pool A and Pool B taking on second place in their counterpart ladders – Pool A ladder leaders Lakeside 14s take on Scone 15s, while Charlestown 14s who sat atop Pool B take on Westlakes 15s.
