The NSW 21/U side have this afternoon secured their fourth win, from as many matches in the 2016 Netball Nationals campaign in Launceston.
New South Wales secured an early lead in their Round 4 match against the Queensland side, closing out a second day of play with four wins and zero losses to date – with matches against Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia and Queensland completed.
With strong eight-goal margins in the first and second quarters, New South Wales had attained a 36 – 20 scoreline at the long break, asserting their dominance. However, the Queenslanders rallied to challenge the Waratahs in the third winning the quarter 8 – 12, with GS (5/5) and GA (7/7) both firing at 100% for the 15 minutes of play. The NSW side responded in the last quarter – adjusting their play, moving the ball down court well and lifting their team performance once again, with an even term.
Madeline Hay had a solid performance at both C and WD, getting plenty of ball from the opposition and steady in attack, and combining well with Captain Kaitlyn Bryce at WA in the first half who fed the circle with precision.
The defensive pairings were working as a formidable unit, picking off plenty of ball and thanks to their structures, the team brought the ball well down court.
Across the court the combinations are working well again and delivered the ball strongly to the shooters who found space and went to the post.
Final results was a 12 goal victory to the Waratahs, NSW 55 – QLD 43.
