Netball NSW’s National C Umpires Camp took place at the Genea Netball Centre over the weekend with participants from both metro and regional areas in attendance.
Presented by Lauren Hill (National A), Bronwen Adams (AA Badge & Suncorp Super Netball Umpire), Tara Warner (IUA Badge & SSN Umpire), Lukas Cannan (NSW Swifts Strength and Conditioning Coach) and Chris Hall (Netball NSW Technical Officials Coordinator & National A) a wonderful day of learning was had.
Over the course of the camp the participants covered court and classroom-based items which were done over five sessions: Position & Vision, Procedures & Protocol, Self-Reflection, Assessment & Badge Competency, Fitness and Updating & Opportunities.
Forty eight of the 70 participants were awarded their National C in 2017.
“I would firstly like to thank everyone who came to this year’s C Camp for contributing to what was a very enjoyable and productive day at the Genea Netball Centre,” Hall said.
“It is very important to us that we keep our umpires learning and looking to improve and the attitude of everyone involved was fantastic – something we are very lucky to have in NSW.
“They had a chance to learn from some of the best in the business, with the likes of Bronwen and Tara in attendance, while seeing the kind of training required at the very top provided great insight.
“These umpires now have the tools to equip themselves in their journey along the national pathway.
“Myself and everyone at Netball NSW looks forward to their continued development.”
