Diamonds set for sparkling finale

The Australian Diamonds are set to take on the New Zealand Silver Ferns in Hamilton in tonight’s 2012 Holden Netball Quad Series finale.

Undefeated throughout the tournament, the Australian Diamonds are assured of a series victory if they can repeat their efforts from last week when they routed the Kiwis 68-48 at Allphones Arena.

South Africa and England take to Claudelands Arena in Hamilton from 4.00pm AEDT, followed by the Diamonds and Silver Ferns at 6.00pm AEDT.

Lisa Alexander has returned NSW junior Chelsea Pitman to the 12-player side named for the Test to bolster the midcourt.

“It’s an on-balance decision so we go into tomorrow’s game with a really strong four shooters, centre courts and defenders, we know that this 12 will bring home a really good result for Australia,” Alexander said.

“We’re pleased with the work that Chelsea has done over the last couple of days; she’s worked very hard.” Australian Diamonds
