Netball NSW continues to put a spotlight on our amazing helpers during ‘Volunteer Week’, with a special Thank You to those who help coordinate the more than 112,000* registered members of our community – Association Presidents.
There are 116 Presidents who, along with the Board of Executive, look after Associations scattered across the State, with 22 based in Sydney Metropolitan and 94 in regional NSW. Under these Associations are hundreds of netball clubs, who have their own Presidents and organising committees.
Netball NSW’s own President Wendy Archer AM says the work done by Executives goes far beyond the netball season, and on many occasion goes unrewarded.
“It’s unbelievable the incredible work Clubs and Associations put into coordinating the many players, coaches and umpires that enjoy our great game across our State,” Archer said.
“From organising Saturday netball and rep team trials; to allocating umpires and hosting Netball NSW competitions such as State and State Age Championships – there are many hundreds of hours these volunteers dedicate to help grow netball across NSW.”
“I understand the endless hours that go into these positions, and after many years involvement myself, am still in awe of these fantastic volunteers and can’t extend my gratitude enough for all the work they do,” Archer concluded.
Netball NSW would like to assist Associations and Clubs to celebrate the fantastic volunteers in the community with a Certificate of Recognition.
Certificates of Recognition are available for volunteers who have provided Associations and Clubs with service from five years and upwards (10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40…yes even 45 or 50 years!).
Submit your forms prior to Friday 7 June to ensure you have ‘Thank You’ certificates to present at the end of the netball season.
