Pratley is Marilyn Melhuish Swifts Player of the Year

2012 NSW Swifts Vice-Captain Susan Pratley was named the Marilyn Melhuish NSW Swifts Player of the Year at the 2012 Netball NSW State Dinner on Saturday night.

The award recognises a NSW Swifts player who has displayed consistent outstanding performances throughout the season.

The celebration was held at the Grand Ballroom in Allphones Arena, Sydney Olympic Park, a stadium where Susan put on a spectacular performance on Sunday 13 May, leading the Swifts to victory over the Melbourne Vixens.

“I think the Marilyn Melhuish award is probably the highest award you can receive in Netball NSW so to be able to receive that and to receive it from Marilyn Melhuish herself was special,” Susan said.

“It’s a really nice honour to accept the award from someone who has given so much to Netball NSW. It’s nice to be recognized by the community of Netball NSW   … and to have that little bit of individual success is really nice as well.”

The honour adds to Pratley’s accolades from a standout 2012 ANZ Championship including QBE NSW Swifts Most Valued Player, presented at the NSW Swifts Gala Dinner in July, ANZ Championship Most Valuable Player nominee and a return to the Australian Diamonds team.
