The 46th Netball NSW State Age Championships are fast approaching with Associations from the far corners of the State converging on two venues this weekend for three days of back-to-back netball!
Illawarra District Netball Association and Campbelltown District Netball Association will host 306 teams representing 90 Associations from across New South Wales – from Grafton in the North, to Eurobodalla in the South, and as far West as Broken Hill.
The action all begins this Saturday 28 June with the Parade of Districts opening the competition, one of the largest sporting events in the southern hemisphere, with the 2014 Champions crowned on Monday 30 June.
More than 3,300 players will contest four divisions in four age groups – 15/U, 14/U, 13/U and 12/U – with Illawarra hosting the top two divisions (Championship and Division Two), while Division Three and Division Four will be contested at Campbelltown.
However there won’t just be NSW teams featuring in this year’s competition, with ACT-based Tuggeranong contesting Division Two of both 15/U and 14/U age groups. As an invitational side, Tuggeranong is not able to win their respective age-division trophies, however will provide tough competition for the NSW-based teams across the long weekend.
