Today marks the beginning of National Volunteer Week; an annual celebration that highlights the important role volunteers have in our community… and I think we can all agree, netball wouldn’t be the same without them!
National Volunteer Week 2015 will be celebrated from today, Monday 11 May, until this Sunday 17th and Netball NSW and the NSW Swifts would like to say THANK YOU to all the amazing individuals who dedicate their own free time to help nurture and grow this wonderful sport we all love.
Established in 1989, National Volunteer Week is the largest celebration of volunteers and volunteerism in Australia, and provides an opportunity to highlight the role that these incredible people play in our community.
Whether it is the San Remo Ball Kids who patrol the court boundaries during the game, our Swifts Volunteers who greet you upon arrival – perhaps showing you to your seat, or giving out our First 500 gifts – to the thousands of ‘Susie Grassroots’ netballers who help run local competitions throughout the State every weekend.
We can’t THANK YOU enough!
For those wishing to give a small token of their thanks to the many dedicated individuals in your community, nominations are open for Clubs and Associations to put forward their valued volunteers for recognition by Netball NSW for their contribution the sport.
Download a ‘Volunteer Recognition Nomination Form’ from the Netball NSW website (www.netballnsw.com) and submit before Friday 31 July to ensure you have your ‘Thank You’ certificates to present by the end of the netball season.
Join us in showing your appreciation for the volunteers the support your local netball!
