NSW Premier Barry O`Farrell and Minister for Sport and Recreation Graham Annesley were on hand to officially `turn the first sod` of Netball Central at the inaugural NSW Swifts FAN DAY on Sunday 17 February.
With the Netball NSW community watching on, the ceremony marks the beginning of construction of the new state-of-the-art centre of excellence.
“I’m delighted to see construction underway on this world-class facility, the first of its kind in Australia,” Mr O’Farrell said.
“As one of the most popular sports in NSW with over 110,000 registered players it is only fitting netball has a new state-of-the-art home in the heart of sporting excellence at Sydney Olympic Park.”
