Netball friends, new and old, will be eagerly looking forward to this weekend when our community comes together to celebrate season 2014 at the annual Netball NSW State Dinner.
This year the party will be held in the Grand Ballroom of Allphones Arena on Saturday 1 November, with festivities beginning at 6:30pm.
A highlight of the Netball NSW calendar, the State Dinner brings together our netball family for a wonderful evening – swapping stories, sharing memories, and highlighting their favourite moments from over the years.
The evening also provides an opportunity to highlight some of the incredible individual accolades from the season, particularly the wonderful volunteers in our community with the Anne Clark BEM Service Award recipients.
One of the organisation’s most prestigious awards, the Anne Clark BEM Service Award is presented in acknowledgement of those who give endlessly to our sport and whom, through their generosity, have made netball the most successful women’s sport in Australia.
Performance accolades are also recognised with; the Margaret Corbett OAM State League Coach of the Year, Neita Matthews OAM Umpire’s Encouragement Award, Marilyn Melhuish OAM NSW Swifts Player of the Year, the Nance Kenny OAM Medal DOOLEYS State League Player of the Year, and the Lynn Quinn OAM Bench Official Award – and award introduced in 2013.
If you haven’t attended a State Dinner before (or haven’t in a few years) then check out some of the photos on the Netball NSW Facebook, as well as NetballNSWTV interviews with some of last year’s award recipients on our YouTube channel.
