Long-standing Manly-Warringah representative Coralie Newman has been awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) on the Australia Day Honours List.
Newman received the award for her service to netball as a player, umpire, manager and administrator.
Newman has had a long love affair with netball, having begun playing as a 12 year old with the Collaroy Netball Club in 1956, before switching to Cromer Netball Club in 1970. Since then she has filled most executive positions at Cromer Netball Club, as well as many positions with Manly-Warringah Netball Association, over a 40 year period.
And at 74 years of age, you can still find Newman umpiring matches at the Northern Beaches courts.
All the Board and Team at Netball NSW and the NSW Swifts congratulate Coralie Newman OAM on her outstanding achievement.
