Netball NSW is calling for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to help spread our sport throughout our metropolitan and regional communities by joining our Sports Development team as Development Officers.
Development Officers (DO’s) are at the heart of our grassroots community, helping deliver a variety of clinics and programs to schools and Gala Days in a fun, safe and inclusive environment so that participants will be encouraged to join their local Association or Club.
It’s an incredible time for sports fans to join the Netball NSW team with a number of exciting events to be held throughout 2015, including NSW Swifts ANZ Championship home games, various school, participation and community programs scheduled throughout NSW, as well as Netball World Cup SYDNEY 2015 in August.
For the first time Netball NSW will also hold an Induction Process for all successful applicants where our Sports Development team will take DO’s through the different events and programs in the schedule, plus provide tips and tricks to make netball fun!
In 2014 we had 19 DO’s scattered throughout New South Wales helping deliver 118 in-school clinics, 29 school holiday clinics, 21 Gala Days and Carnivals, as well as assist with 40 Community programs and events, 30 Netball NSW Schools Cup days and eight NSW Swifts’ game day activations.
To be eligible to become a Netball NSW DO all you need is a basic knowledge of netball, a passion for engaging children in sport to live a healthy lifestyle and a positive attitude.
The position requires the applicants to have their Foundation Coaching Accreditation, however for the right individuals who do not have this accreditation Netball NSW is willing to assist in supplying training and support to achieve this. Netball NSW will also accept any equivalent coaching accreditation achieved in other codes.
The position is also perfect for higher learning students, particularly those studying in the Sports Management, Sports Science, and Recreation fields, with sessions counting towards your practical learning units and work experience.
