KARI Foundation are excited to announce a partnership with Netball NSW, which will commence with their sponsorship of the KARI Indigenous Netball Knockout 2019.
The Indigenous Netball Knockout will be a one-day competition open to Indigenous players across the state, which will consist of four divisions (U12 Girls, U15 Girls, Open Mixed, Open Women’s).
Netball NSW is an organisation which shares the community values of KARI and offers the Indigenous community a number of programs to engage youth, with the aim of enhancing the participation of Indigenous girls in netball to improve their physical fitness, team cooperation and general health and wellbeing.
“Netball NSW has proven to provide a number of programs to engage Indigenous communities across NSW, encouraging them to participate in netball,” Community Programs Manager KARI Lauren Drayton said
“Indigenous communities benefit from their specialised netball clinics, as well as access to tournaments and competitions such as the KARI Indigenous Netball Knockout.
“Together with Netball NSW we hope to provide the Indigenous community a competition that promotes healthy lifestyle choices and inspires participants to continue playing sport.”
Lauren Woods, Netball NSW General Manager Stakeholder Relations, said: “We deeply value our relationship with KARI Foundation and are thrilled to be able to partner with them to provide support for the inaugural KARI Indigenous Netball Knockout.
“This will be a wonderful opportunity for young Indigenous athletes to be active and engaged through netball and we hope it will become an important avenue for developing Indigenous players in the state.”
