Welcome to Oceania Netball Cup, a Pacific Community festival of netball.

Oceania Netball Cup is a Fun Community festival of netball to celebrate Polynesian, Pacific and Indigenous cultures!

The 2018 Oceania Netball Cup will be held on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 March, a social and fun competition open to all abilities with a party atmosphere. Netball NSW encourages friends and family members to create teams, or why not enter your 2018 Club team into a preseason warm up competition.

Come down and enjoy Face Painting, Kids Activities, Music, Food and Netball Skill sessions. We encourage you to be as creative with your uniform as possible so don’t forget to dress up in your best colours.

Dates: Friday 16 March 2018 l games starting at 6.00pm l Mixed competition

Saturday 17 March 2018 l games starting 9.00am l 12U Mixed, 15U and Opens Ladies competitions

Cost: $150.00 per team

Spectators or general event entry is FREE for Non-Players

Divisions: 12/U Mixed, 15U, Opens Ladies (16+) and Opens Mixed*

Who can attend and Participate at Oceania Netball Cup 2018?

Anyone is welcome to either play or spectate!
We are of course celebrating the Polynesian, Indigenous and Pacific communities, but it doesn’t matter where you’re from, EVERYONE is welcome!


Can I play in both Mixed and Opens Ladies competitions?

Yes! The Mixed competition is on the Friday and Open Ladies on the Saturday.

When will I receive my team’s draw?

Your Team Manager/Captain will receive the Draw one week prior to the event.

What are the Fast5 rules?

Fast5 is the game format used for the Mixed Competition on the Friday Night. There are some differences to the rules and umpiring which can be found HERE.

How long are the games?

Fast5 Mixed (Friday) – 6min intervals
Mainstream 12s, 15s and Ladies (Saturday) – 10mins intervals

More information will be provided when Team Manager/Captains are emailed the Draw

Who scores the games?

Each team should have a volunteer to stand together and score. Please see the How to complete a scoresheet templates

Where can I find the Code of Behaviour?

Codes of Behaviour are agreed to upon registration to ensure the safety and best experience for everyone at netball events. Please ensure you and your team have read the Netball NSW Codes of Behaviour which can be accessed here.

Will there be a lunch break on the Saturday?

Dependant on the number of teams and games, Oceania Netball Cup will do its best to ensure there is a half hour lunch break at some mid-way point of the day.

What should I bring to Oceania Netball Cup?

Water, Sunscreen, Hat, (Soft material for safety reasons i.e bucket hat or soft visor) and bring all your friends to either play or cheer you on!

Is there a presentation at the end of the competition?

A short presentation to the winners and runners up will happen after the Finals series on both Friday and Saturday.


Does our team have to wear uniforms?

Its up to you! Oceania Netball Cup is a relaxed, social tournament and we encourage you to be as creative with your uniforms as possible so don’t forget to dress up in your best Pacific Island colours.

Do I need to supply an umpire for my team? Who can help me find an umpire if I don’t know anyone?

Each team must supply their own umpire. If you need assistance contact Liverpool City Netball Association or a local club who may be able to source you one. (Note: this may involve a cost and isn’t necessarily guaranteed)

Does my team need to supply our own equipment i.e. bibs and balls?

Each team is expected to supply their own ball/s and positional bibs. Netball NSW will not have any spares available on the day.

Where do I check-in my team on the day?

On the day of your relevant competition, Team Managers/Captains are required to check in and the sign-on desk (outside the Association building).
There will also be a Team Managers briefing before games on each day. Times TBC and will be sent out with the draw and information pack prior to the event.


Does the venue have any shade?

The venue has some shaded areas, however it is recommended to bring your own shade shelter. If you bring a shade shelter or marquee please ensure this is included on your registration to allocate space and all marquees need to be weighted or pegged down for safety. If you have forgotten to include this, please email labrahams@netballnsw.com to ensure we have enough space for all teams/guests.

Is there any seating available?

Minimal to no seating is available. It is recommended to bring your own chair. A list of ‘Items Permitted on Court’ will be supplied with your information pack prior to the event.

Is there First Aid onsite?

Oceania Netball Cup will have a medical personnel onsite. First aid will be for injuries and medical emergencies only and will not be attended to strapping needs.

Are there toilets at the venue?

Yes. Male, female and disabled toilets are available onsite.

What parking is available?

Parking is plentiful at the Liverpool Venue. Either off Memorial Ave (behind the Whitlam centre) or off Hoxton Park Road. A venue map will be included in the information pack.

Where can my team or spectators setup?

Teams and Spectators can set up in the labelled areas found on the Venue Layout Map.

What happens if it’s raining?

In the event of light rain, we will go ahead – so bring your ponchos or umbrellas. The courts and weather conditions shall be inspected by Netball NSW Staff one hour and thirty minutes prior to the commencement of round one. A decision will be made as per the Netball NSW Adverse Weather Conditions Policy.

In the event of the competition being cancelled, the rescheduled date will be two weeks later on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st March


Will there be food available for purchase?

There will be a number of options for food and drink which we encourage you to purchase and support the small businesses! Follow our Facebook Event for updates on who is attending.

Teams may bring food of their own, however no BBQs, open fire or cooking electronics are permissible at the venue.

Will there be music at the event?

Yes! We will have a DJ to encourage the social, relaxed atmosphere of the event.

Will there be entertainment at the event?

Yes, on the Friday evening. Oceania Netball Cup has teamed up with Matavai Cultural Arts Group to organise a few welcoming performances.

Is there anything for young kids to do?

Yes. This event has lots for the kids.

  • There will be a FREE face painter on Saturday from 10.30am-1.30pm
  • Kids Skill Clinics will be run FREE for everyone on Saturday at 11am and 1.30pm with qualified coaches.
  • Cultural Performances will be held at 6pm on Friday
  • Music and food will be available throughout the event

Will there be an official photographer?

Oceania Cup will have an official photographer. Image consent is collected at the point of registration. Please talk to your Team Manager/Captain and notify event staff on check-in if there are any changes to image consent.
