The 2014 Oceania Netball Cup was held on Wednesday 24th & Thursday 25th, September 2014 at the Anne Clark Centre.
The 2014 carnival saw a record number of participants with 42 teams joining in the fun. Teams travelled from all over the State; from Barellan to Nowra… we even had some visitors from the Australian Capital Territory and Tonga!
The competition was divided into three age groups – Under 13, Under 15, and Under 18 – with the Under 15 Division so popular, it was divided into two pools.
Congratulations to the following teams who were crowned their age-group Champions:
Under 13: Afatasi Styles
Under 15 – Pool A: Cronulla Sharks
Under 15 – Pool B: Fobalicious
Under 18: The United
Following on from the success over the previous two years, Oceania Cup returned in 2014!
The Oceania Cup is a fun and relaxed carnival with the emphasis on having a good time with friends and enjoying netball – all with a distinct Polynesian flavour!
Netball NSW encourages people of all abilities to come together and form teams to play, whether friends, Club or Association teammates!
The laid-back netball tournament over the last two years has seen an astonishing 53 teams contest three age divisions with 2013 NSW Swifts co-captain Mo’onia Gerrard the driving force behind the event.
“It’s awesome to see the Oceania Cup grow from an idea I had to now, in its second year [in 2013], grow even more with more teams participating, more supporters coming along to cheer, and everyone just getting into the spirit,” Mo’onia said.
