As the weather starts to warm up it means the end of another DOOLEYS State League season, as Divisions 2-8 prepare to contest the Finals Series.

It all kicks off this Saturday 31 August with Divisions 5-8 contesting their Semi Finals from at the Anne Clark Centre from 12:00pm.

The Finals Series for all divisions will be contested in the following format;
First and second-placed sides will meet in the Major Semi Final, with a win taking the victors straight to the Grand Final while the other has a second chance in the Preliminary Final. Who they meet in the Preliminary Final will be determined by the result of the Minor Semi Final, played out between third and fourth place.  The winner of the Minor Semi Final will advance to the Preliminary Final.

4:30pm Court A CSNA/Sydney Uni (1) v Hills District (2)
4:30pm Court C Bankstown City (3) v Baulkham Hills (4)
The Division Five Major Semi Final is set to be a thriller with Minor Premiers CSNA/Sydney Uni and second-placed Hills District coming away with one win apiece from their two meetings. CSNA/Sydney Uni came out on top in Round 2, 48-40, while Hills District took the second encounter, 51-36, in Round 11. Bankstown City came out on top in both preliminary round meetings with Minor Semi Final opponent Baulkham Hills, 45-28 in Round 1 and 56-44 in Round 10.

3:00pm Court C Ku-ring-gai (3) v Parramatta Auburn (4)
The Division Six Major Semi Final could go down to the wire on Saturday with Hills District and Wollondilly trading wins during the preliminary rounds; Wollondilly won their first meeting 41-39 in Round 4 while Hills District claimed the honours in Round 13, 63-48. Fourth-placed Parramatta Auburn took the win over Minor Semi Final opponent Ku-ring-gai in both meetings thus far in 2013; 40-34 in Round 4 and 46-31 in Round 13.

1:30pm Court A Illawarra (1) v Sutherland Shire (2)
1:30pm Court C Hills District (3) v Hawkesbury City (4)
Both Illawarra and Sutherland Shire, who are set to meet in the Division Seven Major Semi Final, finished the preliminary rounds with just three losses to their names, however in the pair’s meetings Illawarra claimed the honours in both Round 2 and Round 11, 73-44 and 60-36 respectively. A spot in the Preliminary Final is up for grabs in the Minor Semi Final, to be contested by Hills District and Hawkesbury City. The stage is set for a tight contest after the teams played out a 42-all draw in Round 2, although Hawkesbury City won their second meeting in Round 11, 63-35.

12:00pm Court A Blue Mountains (1) v Sutherland Shire (2)
12:00pm Court C Inner Western Suburbs (3) v Penrith (4)
Undefeated Blue Mountains takes on Sutherland Shire in the Division Eight Major Semi Final. The teams played out two tight contests during the Preliminary Rounds. Blue Mountains won both meetings; 40-34 in Round 5 and 42-37 in Round 14. Minor Semi Final opponents Inner Western Suburbs and Penrith will be very familiar with each other after playing in the final preliminary round last Saturday; Inner West was triumphant 48-39, a similar result to when the teams met in Round 9, 49-37.
