Netball NSW made our long-awaited move to new headquarters, Netball Central, earlier this week after 35 years of calling the Anne Clark Centre home.
After laying the Foundation Stone in 1979, Netball NSW officially moved into the Anne Clark Centre in 1980 with some of the legends of our community – Neita Matthews OAM, Maureen Boyle, Margaret Corbett OAM and, of course ‘Little Annie’ herself; Anne Clark BEM.
On Monday 1 December Netball NSW commenced a new era in our history when we moved into our new $35 million centre of excellence – a purpose built, world-class netball facility in Sydney Olympic Park.
Netball NSW CEO Carolyn Campbell said of the impending move: “The vision for Netball NSW and the sport in the State moving forward is hugely exciting, but we are all a little emotional about leaving the Anne Clark Centre, because the sentiment and history we’ve created here has enabled us to move to a facility such as Netball Central.”
In honour of our recent relocation, NetballNSWTV is bringing you a special look back at some of our community’s fondest memories of the Anne Clark Centre, captured at the 2013 Netball NSW State Dinner, held in the building.
Watch below and hear some of the wonderful tales from the organisation’s past – and perhaps in another 30 years the next generation will be sharing their fond memories of when Netball Central was opened!
