It is with deep sadness Netball NSW informs our community of the passing of Macleay Netball Association icon, Pamela Guyer OAM.
Pam made a significant contribution to netball at a grassroots, Association and State level for over fifty years, undertaking the role of Macleay District Netball Association President from 1959 to 2007.
She first joined the Association back in 1958 where Pam was Treasurer, before stepping up as President the following year. It was in this role that Pam oversaw the Affiliation of the District with Netball NSW in 1973, as well as new and upgraded infrastructure and facilities over the years.
In 2008 Macleay District sought Council approval to name the Netball Clubhouse the “Pam Guyer Netball Centre” in acknowledgement of her long standing commitment to the sport.
In recognition of her tireless work, Pam has been the recipient of a number of accolades and awards including Anne Clark Service Award in 2002, and was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in the 2015 Queen’s Birthday Honours.
Our thoughts are with the Guyer family, their friends and Macleay District Netball Association at this sad time.
