Terese Kennedy has represented Australia internationally in both netball and Basketball. With 15 international test caps to her credit Terese was in integral part of the Australian line-up for almost a decade.
She was Vice-Captain of the Australian team which won the third World Netball Tournament in Jamaica in 1971. Playing in the vital goal keeper and goal defence positions she was also in Australia’s team which competed successfully in the Fifth World series in Trinidad in 1979. Terese was Captain/Coach of NSW for the 1971 Australian championships. In 1976 and again in 1979 Terese captained NSW to joint premierships at the Australian Championships. She was also Captain/Coach of Randwick which were inter district premiers in 1977.
Terese represented NSW in 1970 as Captain, 1971 as Captain/ Coach, 1972 as Coach, and in 1976–1979 she captained the team to joint National Champions.
Terese was known to be a fierce competitor, however is well respected in both netball and basketball circles and is known as a true sportswoman and ambassador for women’s sport.
On 26th October 1979 Terese became the first netballer to be inducted into the NSW Hall of Champions.
