Masters State Titles, historically known as the State Championships – Masters, not only has a new title but will also be heading to the Regional NSW city of Tamworth in 2019.

Netball NSW are excited to see our Masters events, BING LEE Masters State Titles along with the Social Masters Competitions played out in the one venue. With both Competitions competing in an O35 and O40 Division, Associations will enjoy the competitive competition to take home the Masters State Title to their Association, while our Social Divisions will enjoy the time together with friends and a little netball.

All will be able to enjoy a Social event on the Saturday night. It’s an opportunity to relax, meet new friends and take in some of the pleasures of a rural city.

From State Championships – Masters to Masters State Titles – why the change?

In 2018 McLaughlin Sports Consultancy completed a comprehensive Netball NSW Competitions and Events Framework Review.

Evidence was collected and analysed relating to the current relevance, effectiveness and sustainability of the NNSW Competitions, the Events Framework and its delivery.

It was determined the duplication of physical, financial and human resources required to manage 2 separate events, which align with the same elements of the National Player Pathway Framework, is not an effective use of NNSW resources.

It was recommended that the current State Championships – Masters and Social Masters events be combined. The State Masters Titles would be a Competition open to teams representing Associations, as well as a Social Competition open to teams not affiliated with a NSW Association.

Unlike the Senior and Junior State Titles, the smaller size of this event allows for this Competition to be hosted by a NSW Regional Association. There are many growing Associations in Regional NSW with indoor and outdoor Facilities of a standard to host the event.
