Netball NSW is looking forward to two days of fun, friends and netball as the 2016 ACPE Social Masters heads to the Central Coast.
This year’s event, the seventh edition of the competition, takes place at Wyong District Netball Association over the weekend of Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 October.
The Masters is all about getting together with friends for some good times and a little bit of our favourite sport. The social function on the Saturday night will again be a main feature and the team ‘uniforms’ are always a highlight of the weekend.
Last year a record 42 teams participated at Charlestown Netball Association in what proved to be a wonderful two days of action; and this year that record has been bettered with 44 teams registered – fantastic!
Players will be competing in two categories – Over 35s and a combined Over 40/45s – and after the success of the 2015 competition, Netball NSW will be hoping for the same excitement and more on the Central Coast.
As per usual there will be both competitive and social divisions at this year’s event and with Illawarra, Hills Bells, Junction Hotel in Motion, Hills Angels and Over The Hills all taking out titles last year, there will be a competitive edge to the weekend too.
“We all have a love for netball and the ACPE Social Masters is about keeping that enthusiasm for the sport alive,” Claire Dale, Competitions Manager at Netball NSW, said.
“While we will have lots of competitive action out on court, there is a strong emphasis on taking part more than winning and that’s why it is always such an enjoyable weekend.
“Netball can be enjoyed by all people of all ages and abilities and it’s fantastic to see the passion Social Masters players have for playing the game.
“Last year we had a wonderful competition in and we are hoping to build on that again on the Central Coast.”
Netball NSW would like to thank the Social Masters’ naming rights sponsor The Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE) for their support.
