There’s a party headed towards Shoalhaven Netball Association this weekend, as the south coast gets ready to host the 2014 Netball NSW Masters competition!
Netballers from across the State are set to descend on the south coast, with 34 teams registered for this year’s event. Teams will be divided in three age groups – Over 35, Over 40 and Over 45 – and 2015 will see the return of two different competitions; the more serious ‘Competitive’ division and the ‘Social’ division, for teams who want to have fun, make new friends, and play a little netball on the side.
This year is the fifth instalment of the Masters competition and it has quickly become renowned as a fun and enjoyable event, where friends and teammates come together for a good time, plus a little bit of competition!
Being held on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 October, teams will contest a round-robin style competition across the two days… and if you’re heading along, don’t forget to pack your dancing shoes!
The Masters Social Function is being held on the Saturday night, and is quickly becoming one of the highlights of the weekend. The night gives players the opportunity to let their hair down, get to know the other participants, and have some fun on the dance floor.
Getting behind the Masters competition for another year, Major Event Partner the Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE) is also proudly supporting the peer-voted Best and Fairest Awards.
Awarded to an individual and team in each age-division, the ACPE Best and Fairest Awards are voted on by the Masters athletes throughout the weekend, and announced during the presentations following the final round of play.
