The 2014 Netball NSW Masters is just days away, with netballers from across the State set to descend on Shoalhaven Netball Association for two days of fun, laughs, and a little bit of netball.
This year is the fifth installation of the Netball NSW Masters competition and it has quickly become renowned as a fun and enjoyable event, where friends and teammates come together for a good time, plus a little bit of competition!
Thirty-four teams have registered for this year’s event and will be divided into three age groups – Over 35, Over 40 and Over 45. The tournament will see many teams returning from last year’s competition, as well as teams travelling from Scone to Hastings Valley to Blayney, and everywhere in between!
This year will once again see the return of two different competitions – the more serious ‘Competitive’ division and the ‘Social’ division, for teams who want to have fun, make new friends, and play a little netball on the side.
Being played on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 October, the teams will contest a round-robin style competition before Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals are presented based upon the final ladder positions in their age-division.
Getting behind the Masters competition for another year, Major Event Partner the Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE) is also proudly supporting the peer-voted Best and Fairest Awards.
Awarded to an individual and team in each age-division, the ACPE Best and Fairest Awards are voted on by the Masters athletes throughout the weekend, and announced during the presentations following the final round of play.
While there will be plenty of action happening on the court across the weekend, athletes will also be looking forward to the highly anticipated social function being held for all competing teams at the Bomaderry Bowling Club. There, players will be able to swap their netball shoes for some dancing shoes, and enjoy a great night of entertainment and laughs.
