After a narrow loss to Victoria in the Semi Finals, the NSW 21/U Team bounced back to overwhelm Queensland 70-28 in the playoff and win third place at the 2014 National Netball Championships in Adelaide on Sunday.

Following the tournament 2014 NSW 21/U representatives Kristina Brice, Taylah Davies and Kristiana Manu’a were named in the Australian 21/U Squad alongside NSW junior Kimberley Ravaillion and NSW Swifts shooter Gretel Tippett.

EXCITEMENT BUILDS AROUND WARATAH CUPDOOLEYS State League is back with the 2014 Waratah Cup competition getting underway on Wednesday 19 March at the Anne Clark Centre.

First up at 7:00pm, 2013 Runners-Up Sutherland Shire open the season against 2014 Waratah Cup newcomers City of Sydney/Sydney Uni while Newcastle will take on Manly-Warringah.

From 8:30pm defending Champions Eastwood Ryde begin their campaign against St George, while Liverpool City will meet Baulkham Hills.

SWIFTS RETURN HOME AFTER NARROW LOSSThe NSW Swifts boast two wins from three games in the 2014 ANZ Championship following a nail-biting one-goal loss to the Thunderbirds, 50-49, in Adelaide last night.

The 2014 competition gets underway in Nowra with the first ‘Schools Cup Local Day’ this Thursday 20 March.

  C BADGES MAKE THE GRADE AT UMPIRES CAMPTwenty-nine umpires attended the Umpires C Camp in the first week of March at the Anne Clark Centre, to be put through their paces with real-time umpiring, coaching and assessment, as well as technical and information sessions. Two umpires were noticed in the opening sessions and went on to be tested to B Badges!
