Spring is in the air and that means one of Netball NSW’s most popular events is back with the 2016 Court Craft Night Interdistrict competition getting underway on Tuesday, 4 October, at Netball Central.
The 2016 edition of the event will see 60 teams from 10 Divisions taking to court over 10 weeks at the home of Netball NSW.
Divisions 8, 9 and 10 will be in action on Tuesday nights, with Divisions 1, 2, 3 and 4 playing Wednesdays and Divisions 5, 6 and 7 hitting the courts on Thursdays.
Last year’s competition saw a wonderful spread of winners across the various Divisions with St George, Ku-ring-gai, Bankstown City, Eastwood Ryde, Hawkesbury City, Inner Western Suburbs, Camden & District, Baulkham Hills Shire and Parramatta Auburn all taking out titles.
2015 was also the first time the competition was played at the world class facilities of Netball Central, something which has really added to the aura of it.
The Night Interdistrict is the competition which usually brings down the curtain on Netball NSW’s year and there is no better way to do it than with record numbers of players taking part in the sport they love.
“The level of competition has increased again in 2016 with a huge number participants and that shows just how popular our game and its product has become,” Mike Anderson, General Manager of Netball NSW, said.
“This is always an ideal way for us to see the year out and the Night Interdistrict is another pathway to help us produce world-class athletes, coaches, umpires and officials.
“And for some it is the chance to play our great game, which they love, in amazing surroundings.”
Anderson also paid tribute to Netball NSW’s long-standing partners Court Craft, who are back again this year to support another edition of the Night Interdistrict.
“Court Craft have been part of the Netball NSW Family for over 20 years and it’s fantastic to have them back on board again in 2016,” he added.
“They have helped make this competition the great event and we are very grateful to have such supportive partners to help us grow our game.”
