The NSW Swifts have this week recorded its all-time highest membership total in the Club’s history, surpassing the previous tally with still 10 weeks until the start of the 2014 ANZ Championship.
The Club eclipsed the prior record of 1470 Members, which was set midway through the 2013 season, and to mark this special occasion NSW Swifts’ shooter Susan Pratley surprised the 1471st Member with a visit to her home in Sydney’s Western Suburbs.
Catherine Phillips, a long-time NSW Swifts supporter but first time Member, made the commitment this year to join the Swifts Family along with her mother and sister.
While Platinum Memberships are now exhausted, there are still Silver Memberships available for the 2014 season, with a limited number of Gold upgrades available to those who hurry.

Upon being surprised by Susan (Pratley), Catherine expressed her excitement in becoming the record-breaking NSW Swifts Member and for the new season.
“I never realised you guys [NSW Swifts] were looking at an achievement like that, so it’s really good. I’m actually really looking forward to the season because I’ve not actually been a member before, so we’re totally brand new to it,” said Catherine.
Having attended a couple of home games in 2013, Phillips remarked on how nothing beats attending a NSW Swifts game live. “Watching on TV, we can always record it, but it’s not the same as being there. I took my 15-year-old rep team [to a game] last year and they had a ball … they got photos with the players and signatures, and it just made their netball experience so much better.”
Since the inaugural ANZ Championships in 2008, the NSW Swifts have enjoyed both crowd and Membership growth on an annual basis, reflecting the popularity of the product and connection the Club has with its Members.
“Sydney is a very competitive sporting marketplace and to achieve yearly Membership growth is a significant achievement for any organisation, and I would like to express my sincere thanks to our loyal fans for their continued support,” said Netball NSW CEO Carolyn Campbell.
“We pride ourselves on the relationship we have with our supporter base and work hard to deliver an all-of-event game day experience. From the minute fans arrive at the venue precinct, until the minute they leave having collected the players autographs post-game, we believe we provide a unique game day experience for the entire family,” concluded Carolyn.
During the 2013 ANZ Championship season the NSW Swifts experienced near capacity home crowds, and a Membership is the only way for fans to guarantee their seat at every Swifts home* game at Sydney Olympic Park next year.
The NSW Swifts open their 2014 ANZ Championship campaign against West Coast Fever at Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre on Sunday 2 March, 12:18pm start. General Admission tickets for the 2014 ANZ Championship season will go on sale Tuesday 4 February, 2014 with further details to be announced in the New Year.
