Swifts HQ: Friday 21 February

Swifts HQ is BACK for another season where, every Friday, we bring you the week that was in NSW Swifts land – from ‘What They Said’ to the upcoming match preview, and everything in between!

While we are still a week away from the Swifts’ opening match of the 2014 ANZ Championship, where they’ll take on West Coast Fever on Sunday 2 March (12:18pm) at Sydney Olympic Park Sports centre (visit www.swiftstickets.com.au to secure your seat TODAY!), the Club is getting excited with the NSW Swifts FAN DAY this Sunday!

There’s plenty of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy this weekend at the Club’s annual FAN DAY – from the Swifts Styling Station to the Taronga Zoomobile, the QBE Photo Booth and Bosco Bear Chocolate Wheel, there’s something for everyone!

Entry to FAN DAY is FREE for Members and fans to attend with doors open at 12noon, so make sure get down early to enjoy the fun on offer before the NSW Swifts take the court at 3:30pm for an Exhibition Match.

2014 NSW Swifts Members don’t forget – Membership Packs will be available for pick-up at FAN DAY so make sure you visit the Membership Stand in the Hall of Champions to collect.  Not a Member yet?  Not to worry! The week that was at Swifts HQ
The week started on a positive note with the NSW Swifts returning from the 2014 Official ANZ Championship Pre-Season tournament – the ‘Summer Shootout’ – undefeated with six wins to their name.

Head Coach Rob Wright said, “It’s always nice to celebrate a win, let alone be undefeated for the tournament, but that was never our focus heading into the Summer Shootout.” Read the full story here.

Goal shooter Susan Pratley echoed her coach’s sentiments but dismissed the hard work ended there; “Now we’ve probably got a bit of a target on our back, but we’re just looking forward to working hard for the next two weeks before the season starts.”
