Netball NSW announce LIVE and FREE coverage of Premier League

Netball NSW is pleased to announce the Netball NSW Premier League (NNSWPL) will be streamed LIVE and FREE during the competition’s inaugural season.

The NNSWPL, which will be played out of Netball Central on Wednesday evenings commencing in mid-April, is a new competition to attract the best current and emerging talent within NSW. Its purpose is to offer a local, elite platform for players, coaches, officials and administrators, and provide bridging opportunities into the Australian Netball League (ANL) and subsequent ANZ Championship.

Netball NSW General Manager – Commercial and Corporate Partnerships, Tristan Prosser-Shaw said this innovation was a preeminent moment for netball in NSW.

“There is a lot of excitement surrounding the Netball NSW Premier League and looking at the player rosters of the eight licensees, fans of netball are in for a real treat,” Prosser-Shaw said.

“Being able to live stream two games each week provides an ideal opportunity to showcase to the people of NSW, Australia and the netballing world our elite and emerging talent.”

“Not only are we hoping to inspire the next generation of stars by highlighting our talent pathway, but this high quality live streaming service presents corporate partners of both Netball NSW and the licensees with the platform to expose their brand to a targeted audience,” concluded Prosser-Shaw.

Netball NSW has partnered with Hunter-based company, BarTV Sports, to deliver LIVE and FREE coverage of both games played on the 800-seat Show Court across the entire 2016 season.

BarTV Sports founder and co-owner Josh Mason said his company is thrilled to be involved in this exciting project, one which he believes will be very popular from his vast experience in delivering sport to a global audience via live streaming.

“We can’t wait to work alongside Netball NSW to showcase what we believe will be a fantastic competition,” Mason said.

“This will be a multi-camera operation which will deliver a high quality experience for the viewer and we are really looking forward to Round One.”

In addition to the weekly live streaming service, BarTV Sports will produce a range of NNSWPL content including match highlights and interviews which will be available on Netball NSW digital and social media channels.

Netball NSW is currently developing a dedicated NNSWPL website and will announce the Naming-Rights Partner for the NNSWPL in the very near future.

The NNSWPL will be contested across two Divisions – Opens and Under 20s – with a Pre-Season tournament scheduled from 2 March through 23 March 2016, followed by the commencement of the 14-week regular season beginning 18 April 2016.  The Finals Series will be contested over three weeks, with the Grand Final currently penned for week commencing 22 August 2016.
