The NNSWPL is a new competition to attract the best current and emerging talent within NSW. Its purpose is to offer a local, elite platform for players, coaches, officials and administrators, and provide bridging opportunities in to the Australian Netball League (ANL) and subsequent ANZ Championship.
Netball NSW President Wendy Archer AM addressed representatives of the eight franchises at the announcement and spoke to NetballNSWTV about the significance of the new league.
“It’s really important for netball in New South Wales. This has been a seed that was planted some years ago and it’s wonderful to see now that we have eight franchises we’ve now been able to announce,” Archer said.
“It’s a very exciting time for netball.”
