The 2015 Northern Inland Regional State League competition will recommence this Sunday 23 August with teams looking to solidify their positions ahead of the Finals Series.
Teams contesting Division 1 and Division 2 will gather at Tamworth Netball Association to take the court for the final regular rounds with an eye on the Finals Series to be played the following weekend, Sunday 30 August.
Recapping from our last update, Quirindi has made an impressive return to Regional State League action after being absent from the competition for the last three seasons. They currently sit atop the Division 1 ladder yet to drop a game, with eight consecutive wins to their name.
Following closely is Group 14 with four wins, two losses and two draws, holding out this weekend’s hosts Tamworth by goal percentage.
It sets up an exciting first matchup with the top two Division 1 sides going head-to-head to open Day 3 action at 9:00am, while fourth-placed Inverell meets Narrabri (currently in fifth) and Tamworth enjoy a Bye.
It’s a different story for Tamworth in Division 2 who mimics Quirindi’s success in the top division. The Day 3 hosts sit atop the ladder with eight straight victories, holding out Quirindi’s Division 2 side by five competition points.
Tamworth and Quirindi will meet to open Division 2’s Day 3 action from 9:00am on Sunday, while Narrabri (fifth) and Inverell (fourth) take to the court and third-placed Moree & District enjoys a Bye.
Following the conclusion of Day 3 action in Tamworth, the location of the Finals Day contest will be determined based on ladder positions.
Good luck to all competing Northern Inland Regional State League teams!
