Last week saw the TAFE NSW School Cups State Finals held at at Netball Central in Sydney Olympic Park.
Each team earned the qualification for these championships from winning their TAFE NSW Regional Cup, in each of their NSW Regions. Students travelled as far as Broken Hill, Waa Waa, Albury, Narrandera and Lismore to participate in the State Finals of these championships. A total of 1,758 teams have participated in the competition throughout the year.
Day one was the TAFE NSW Primary Schools Cup State Finals, a big congratulations to St Matthews Catholic School, representing the West Central West Region, who won the Primary School Day after a hard-fought game against Trinity College from Riverina.
Day two was the TAFE NSW High School Cup State Finals. In the 7/8 girls division, Pymble Ladies College, from Sydney Metro took out the division, while All Saints College from the Hunter Region were the runners up. In the years 7/8 Boys division, the winners were Trinity Catholic College, from the far North Coast, and the runners up were Hills Grammar, from Sydney Metro.
In the years 9/10 girls division, the winners were Loreto Normanhurst from Sydney Metro and the runners are were All Saints College from Hunter region. And last but not least, in the years 9/10 boys division, the winners were Narrandera High School from the Riverina region, and the runners up were St Columba’s Anglican School, from the North Coast region.
Congratulations again to all the teams who earned their opportunity to compete in these championships. Thank you on behalf of Netball NSW to everyone involved in the organisation and success of this competition. And for the efforts made from near and far in supporting the growth of netball in schools.
