TAFE NSW Schools Cup All Abilities Division

Netball NSW is proud to announce the launch of the inaugural TAFE NSW Schools Cup All Abilities Division.

The TAFE NSW Schools Cup All Abilities Division is an exciting addition to the state-wide TAFE NSW Schools Cup netball tournament, which is designed to encourage primary and secondary students in Years 5-12 to play netball in a fun, friendly and inclusive environment.

The All Abilities Division joins the already existing Primary and Secondary Divisions and the recently launched Fast5 Carnival for Year 11-12 students, making this the most inclusive year to date for the TAFE NSW Schools Cup. It ensures the program allows students of all skill levels the opportunity to participate and experience time on the netball court.

The new All Abilities Division is available to all students with physical and intellectual disabilities from Public, Private and Independent school systems in NSW.

This exciting Division will run at Local Days in all eight regions around NSW, with the first Local Day being hosted at Baulkham Hills Shire Netball Association on Wednesday, 8 May. Participating students will have the opportunity to learn new skills, enjoy netball related activities and game play.

Experienced Netball NSW (NNSW) Development Officers will provide varied options to suit a participant’s abilities to ensure an inclusive and enjoyable day of netball for all who attend.

The TAFE NSW Schools Cup is an initiative by Netball NSW to provide New South Wales primary and secondary school students with the opportunity to experience netball in an welcoming and fun environment. The TAFE NSW Schools Cup is available to male and female students from Public, Independent and Catholic systems in Years 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, with a new Fast5 Carnival stream in 2019 for Years 11 and 12.

Now moving into its seventh year, the TAFE NSW Schools Cup has grown from 3,000 participants in the inaugural year to over 15,500 participants in 2018. With the introduction of the All Abilities Division and Fast5 Carnival, 2019 is going to allow more students to participate in this fun and inclusive event.
