Netball NSW is delighted to announce that TAFE NSW has signed on as naming rights partner for the 2018 Schools Cup, and as a wider community partner.
The TAFE NSW Schools Cup is an initiative by Netball NSW to provide New South Wales primary and secondary school students with the opportunity to take part in netball in an inclusive and enjoyable environment.
The Schools Cup is available to female and male students from Public, Independent and Catholic systems in Years Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine and Ten.
Last year saw a record 12,611 students from across the State participate in the competition, which culminated in two days of exciting State Finals action at Genea Netball Centre.
Carolyn Campbell, Netball NSW Chief Executive Officer, said that linking the Schools Cup and TAFE NSW was a natural fit.
“We are very excited to have TAFE NSW on board with us this year. The Schools Cup competition has a far-reaching capability that we’re extremely proud of, and we have record amounts of students getting involved from all corners of the state,” she said.
“TAFE NSW are great providers of education, and as the competition is education-based, this partnership is a vital one.”
TAFE NSW Relieving General Manager of Communications and Marketing, Brad Homer, said that the Schools Cup is a perfect initiative for Australia’s largest education and training provider to support.
“While players are still at school or if their parents are seeking a career upgrade or ready to re-enter the workforce, they can get the skills they need for the job they want by studying where, when and how it suits them at TAFE NSW.”
