The Hunter Valley is set to welcome 45 enthusiastic teams of netballers this weekend as the Maitland District Netball Association plays host to the 2018 Social Masters.
One of the most easy-going competitions on the netball calendar, the Masters is all about getting together with friends for some fun, good times, and a little bit of the game we love so much.
Held over two days – 20-21 October – with the social function on the Saturday night a main feature, the Social Masters has quickly become one of the most popular competitions in Netball NSW’s repertoire.
Competition is likely to be very intense in the Over 35s Competitive Division (13 teams), however, the going will be a little more cruisy in the Over 35 and Over 40 Social Divisions, which both have 16 teams participating.
“This is always one of the best weekends of the year and we are really happy to be heading to the Hunter Valley in 2018,” Claire Dale, Competitions Manager at Netball NSW, said.
“After a long netball season, the Social Masters is the perfect way for many Associations to start to say farewell to the 2018 season against their regional and metro rivals.
“We have had an increase in the number of teams taking part this year which shows how popular the competition is.
“The sun shone brightly for us in the Illawarra in 2017 and we hope the weather does the same thing for us this weekend.
“Either way, I know everyone will have a great time and we really can’t wait to see everyone out on court, and at the social functions which surround this event.”
