The inaugural Netball NSW State Cup takes place this weekend at Netball Central, Saturday and Sunday 24-25 September, and is shaping up to be another top weekend of action.
The competition, which will bring the best Metro and Regional teams in New South Wales together, has been setup to determine the State’s best Association in the Opens age category.
Teams from the 2016 DOOLEYS Metro League Regional League Competitions were invited.
While competition for the title of State champions will be the main event, the tournament will also crown the Inter-Regional Champions with the highest ranked Regional Association at the conclusion of the weekend declared the winner.
“This is an exciting new competition for our organisation and we can’t wait to see the teams arrive at Netball Central this weekend,” Claire Dale, Competitions Manager at Netball NSW, said.
“As we haven’t done this before there is a lot of anticipation to see which Association will be named inaugural State champions.
“People in this State love their netball, and after what’s been an amazing week with both the Swifts and GIANTS naming their squads for next year’s National Netball League, there has never been a better time to be involved in the game.
“The Associations are the lifeblood of our sport, and the elite level couldn’t exist without them, and this tournament is another avenue for some of our budding netballers of the future to test themselves out against some of the best talent NSW has to offer.”
The Netball NSW State Cup takes place at Netball Central, Sydney Olympic Park, on 24-25 September (8:30am start both days). Entry is free. For more information visit our dedicated State Cup page.
