Netball NSW has today confirmed a change to the coaching team for the 2014 Netball NSW Blues for the forthcoming Australian National League competition.
Head Coach Megan Anderson has made the hard decision to withdraw from the position as she enters the final trimester of her pregnancy.
Current NNSW Blues’ Assistant Coach Briony Akle will now take over the role of Head Coach, with Netball NSW now advertising for an Assistant Coach.
“The decision for Megan to withdraw wasn’t an easy one; she is an outstanding coach and was very much looking forward to working with this talented group of players. Megan has the full support of Netball NSW as she prepares now for the arrival of twins,” said Tracey Fear, Netball NSW General Manager – High Performance.
“With the Blues’ 2014 ANL pre-season program about to commence next week, and to maintain continuity, current Assistant Coach Briony Akle will take over the Head Coach role and the recruitment for a new Assistant Coach begins,” concluded Fear.
Megan Anderson hopes to continue her role as NSW Swifts’ Assistant Coach for the remainder of their 2014 ANZ Championship campaign. The Swifts start the Finals Series this Sunday against the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic in a sudden death Minor Semi-Final at Allphones Arena.
