Final chance to see ANL action

New South Wales fans have one last chance to see some of the best netball talent from around the country in action for the 2013 Australian Netball League (ANL), with the final regular round being contested at the Anne Clark Centre this weekend.

Both the Netball NSW Blues and Netball NSW Waratahs will take the court in front of home fans for the final time this season to contest Week 7 of the competition, kicking off this Friday 16 August.

The NNSW Waratahs will kick off proceedings when they meet the Territory Storm at 6.45pm, their last regular season match before preparing for the Finals Series in Adelaide the following weekend.  They will be followed by NNSW Blues who come up against Tassie Spirit at 8.30pm.

The netball action doesn’t stop there with young guns NNSW Blues taking the court against defending champions Southern Force on Saturday 17 August at 6.45pm, followed by the battle between the North and South with Territory Storm meeting Tassie Spirit, while .

Sunday 18 August will be a netball extravaganza with the 2013 Marie Little OAM Shield being contested in conjunction with ANL’s final day’s play.

The 2013 Marie Little OAM Shield is a one-day round robin tournament for People With a Disability (PWD), with three teams representing NSW, Victoria and South Australia playing each other twice to take home the title.

The tournament will be held in two sessions, the first beginning at 9.00am followed by an afternoon session from 2.00pm, with presentations to the teams at the conclusion of the day’s play.

This is the third year the All Abilities tournament is being held, after first being contested between Netball Victoria and Netball South Australia on the back of the 21/U National Netball Championships in 2011.
