Netball NSW is delighted to announce that the coaching team for the 2017 Marie Little OAM Shield has been appointed.
The Marie Little OAM Shield provides an opportunity for state/territory netball players with an intellectual disability to compete at a national tournament.
This year Jenny O’Keeffe will reprise her role as Head Coach and will be assisted by Therri Ellison. Apprentice Coach Emily Midson will also form part of the team while Team Manager Ellen Monaghan rounds out the support.
“I would like to congratulate all of the coaching team on being appointed for the 2017 edition of the tournament,” Nikki Horton – General Manager, Sport Development at Netball NSW – said.
“The Marie Little OAM Shield holds a very special place in the heart of our organisation and our fantastic NSW team has a wonderful record in it.
“Netball, as we always say, is for everyone and this team have done us proud over the last few seasons, and do so every time they take to the court.
“I would like to wish them all the best of luck for the tournament later in year and all the best to the wonderful athletes who will try and earn selection for the tournament.”
New South Wales have won the last two competitions, and in 2016 they were crowned champions on home soil at the Genea Netball Centre, Sydney Olympic Park.
This year the tournament will be heading west and be held from 1st-3rd September 2017 at the State Netball Centre in Perth, Western Australia, where the NSW team will be looking to make it three titles in a row.
